Scroobious Pip

The object of this project was to paint a grisaille of the main character from the poem "Scroobious Pip." I decided to paint the under tonal painting in values of green rather than traditional grey to set a swampy atmosphere for the scene. I decided to expand upon the project, and create two accompanying scratchboard, black and white illustrations.

This the maquette reference I made for the painting. I even added LED lights to make the firefly part glow!
